All of these landmarks are what brings 20 million tourists to Venice each year. Scroll down below to see just a few of Venice's most amazing wonders.
Canal Grande || The Grand Canal
The Grand Canal is located in Venice traveling from Saint Mark Basin on one end to a lagoon near the Santa Lucia rail station and snakes through Italy in an S shape. The Grand Canal is one of Italy’s most recognised geographical features. The Grand Canal is the main form of transportation and is the "main street" in Venice. The Grand Canal is 4km long, 5m deep and varies from around 27m wide to 91m wide. This amazing land mark is a very ancient water-way and in the 10th century was used for easy trade and was a shipping-port. Houses and building only started to appear in the 12th and 13th century. By the 18th century buildings had covered the Grand Canal with the beautiful architecture we see today that now hold 170 buildings that consist of restaurants, hotels and houses and are now 1200-1700 years old.

Le Dolomiti || The Dolomites
The Dolomites are a mountain range in northeastern Italy, in the Veneto region. The Dolomites form a part of the Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige. The nearest city to the Dolomites is Venice. The Dolomites' level of elevation reaches 3,343m high, and its highest point is Marmolada, which is a Mountain in the Dolomites. There are many great activities to participate in such as: hiking, climbing, cycling, skiing and snowshoeing. The Dolomites is an amazing place to visit and has a national park through it which enjoys amazing treks through the Dolomites. The Rout of Dolomites is a walk that consists of a ring-rout of 30 laps. This walk enjoys splendid views and once in a life time scenery, I would recommend this for all tourists visiting Veneto.
